Wilson Lake - Switchgrass Mountain Biking Trails

Trail Usage: Biking, Hiking

Trail Coordinator:
Bob Nicholson

The Trail is a clockwise stacked loop system, beginning at the trailhead with the Golden Belt Loop (aka, yellow), then the Marina Loop (aka, purple), and finally the Hell Creek Loop (aka, red). If you wanted to ride all the loops in order, you’d ride Yellow – Purple – Red – Purple – Yellow. Begin at the trailhead on the Yellow, then intersect with the Purple, then ride the Red. After completing the Red, you get back on the Purple. Completing that, you are back on the Yellow. That’s about 15 miles all of which is great singletrack, except two very short sections of doubletrack of less than 100 yds total. If needed, the trail is never far from a bailout to a paved road back to the trailhead. Plan on 1.5-4 hrs depending on biking skill and how much sight seeing you might want to do.

Most trail users park at the Switchgrass Campground restroom and shower. The trailhead kiosk is located there with maps and other information about the trail and the park. Please sign in at the trail register every time you use the trail. Trail access is also available at the parking lot just west of the big bridge. There are no facilities and a permit is required.  Contact the trail coordinator to obtain more information.
